For example No 460 Sqn RAAF suffered heavily. It lost 181 aircraft on operations and suffered 1,018 fatal casualties [wiped out five times as the aircrew establishment was 200 at any one time] - the highest number of any of the Australian squadrons in RAF Bomber Command.

Nicely done tribute. My uncle was with 50sqn and did not return from a mission to Hanover, the rear gunner was the only survivor. Few years ago i visited the CWGC cemetery there. It was quite a moving experience. Shame it took so many years for the Bomber Command Memorial, but am glad that it was before they are all gone......
