New England Air Museum Great Aviation Adventure June 22-23!

Wed May 15, 2013 9:00 pm

With the sudden drop–off and cancellation of air shows in the Northeast, it’s about time there was some good news! The New England Air Museum is putting on one of the few air related events in New England this June! Now I’ve been a member of the museum for 39 years, so I might be a little bias, but with so little in the way of air shows this year, I wouldn’t miss this one!

It’s a great opportunity to see some terrific aircraft displayed on the ramp at Bradley International Airport, in Windsor Locks, CT. Best of all, for those of you who just can’t get close enough to the aircraft, you will be ON the airport, as close to the runway as safety will allow! Don’t miss this unique event with unprecedented access to all the action at BDL!

In addition, you can purchase a flight experience and go for a ride in “Panchito”, a WWII North American B-25 Mitchell Bomber! Relive what it was like for the Doolittle Raiders as they lumbered down the deck of the USS Hornet bound for Tokyo back in 1942! It would make a great Father's Day gift!! (Hint, Hint!)
Come on down June 22-23! See the aircraft, take a ride in “Panchito” and see how an airport runs…up close!

New England Air Museum
Great Aviation Adventure
June 22nd & 23rd

The STAR of the SHOW will be "Panchito" a WWII era B-25
Mitchell Bomber which will make five flights each day (weather
permitting). Rides will be available at a cost of $425 per person.
An opportunity to go “airside” at Bradley Int’l Airport, New
England’s second largest airport and to get up close to an exciting
display of more than 25 aircraft. These will include military,
commercial, corporate, warbirds, homebuilt and antiques.

Love to have the PV-2, but since it's their first time, they're trying to keep the budget down.

Don't miss this if you're anywhere nearby! Not too many aviation events this year! Great lineup and just a few seats left on Panchito! Hope to see some of you there Saturday morning!

$425 for a ride in Panchito? Even in the waist positions? :?

I should have taken a ride in the Tri-Motor for $70, still may.

I actually think a ride in the nose of the B-25 is better than anyother bomber ride out there!

I rode in Panchito, and at takeoff and landing you are strapped in a seat. During the ride I crawled thru the tunnel under the pilot's seat and rode in front. You can't be there at T.O. or landing. They have a copy of the "Mark Twain" sight used during the Doolittle raid in the nose, and a very good view. I reserved early for my seat and got the flight observer seat behind the pilot last year at Reading, loved that seat just watching the flight crew do their pre-flight and the whole flight. Take your own earplugs so you can move about. The B-25 is loud.
