P-51 Hydraulic Coupling Question

Mon Apr 15, 2013 6:38 pm

We’re almost there with all the bits we need for the firewall rebuild, however the hydraulic couplings are causing an issue as we cannot find any details. They’re Aeroquip, which is straightforward enough, but Parts Catalogue fig/index 54/47 gives a part number of 160-10 for the upper coupling, and for the lower coupling (54/58) a part number of 105-160-8. Is anyone out there able to confirm what the current parts used for the job are as a suitable replacement for the originals?

Any words of wisdom very helpful!

Many thanks,

The original fittings are AC type fittings and the modern AeroQuip are AN type fittings.
The upper is -10 and the lower are -8 sizes. The thread type on the QD is fine thread. There is another type of QD fittings that are a very course thread with a anti rotation device.
I've found NOS AC type on ebay for the hyd mule service cart hoses recently.
I'll try to check out numbers on what we have on the mule.
