Here's more:

My parents went there once and my dad said the food was OK, but the place was only in business a few years.

This was a Delta DC-7, N4871C, that suffered a gear collapse at O'Hare in December of '61 - here's the incident:

The listing refers to it being made into a restaraunt in Sterling, IL but I think this is actually the Sterling Park neighborhood in Chicago.

I'm thinking it is no longer around. On the site www.whatwasthere.com it indicated the photos were taken in the 50's or early 60's.

Found the location - SW corner of Cicero and Monroe. I matched up the apartment building behind it on Google Street View:

The large B&W photo was probably taken from the roof or back stairs of the apartments.

Wow, you really do learn something new every day. I've been to the Windy City before but I'd never even heard of this...
Such a shame there are no places like this to go to now (I remember seeing an airplane off I-75 near Warner Robbins, GA that had been a restaurant but it vanished many moons ago, I never went there or ever got close to it). I'd love to go to a place like this.
