Can anyone familiar with the tour tell me if El Paso has been dropped? FiFi was supposed to arrive yesterday , but if she did I do not know where she is hidden. The CAF website does not show any change.

According to local spotters, she was at North Texas Regional (Denison - KGYI) about 3 hours ago before heading south from the area, so she may be on her way now unless making a stop somewhere along the way. FlightAware not tracking anything, so it appears that they've stopped doing that like they were last year.

She did. Hopefully I will see her fly today, or tomorrow. This is kind of a depressed area economocally, so I will be surprised if she make many revenue flights. The Beech 18 has been up a few times.

Whilst it might e quite a depressed area economicaly, it is obviously a good place to be in the cone business.

Nothing like starting a national tour two days late and not bothering to at the least to update your websight. Not to mention the very least of announcing the delay on facebook or something. They sure seem to have a lot of tools at their disposal that they never use.

This is what I like about the Collings Foundation. They are always posting on FB. Kind of fun to watch even when they are 1/2 way across the country.

My sincere apology for the lack of information. Weather kept us in Dallas an extra day. FIFI was scheduled to arrive Thursday at noon and did not arrive until Friday evening. The press and FBO were informed of the delay, but we should have communicated better on the website and social media. I'm sorry.
We closed up early today due to strong wind.
Departing tomorrow morning for Tucson where we are scheduled to arrive at noon. Gates open at 2.

Is Diamond Lil going to be doing any touring this year? I haven't seen her since 2005..before Gary worked his magic on her.

Yes, we're planning to take Diamond Lil east -- first stop Reading in early June. Then through the midwest including Oshkosh.
Still in maintenance -- but we're hopeful.

Here's how Diamond Lil looked on December 29th in the CAF hangar at Addison. The repairs to the nose were coming along nicely and the crew was well into the annual.

Do my eyes deceive me, or is there a window where the bombay should be?

I just checked the social page links on the Airpower page and they all are for a HTML5 publishing platform. In other words the default page for the program, nothing about the CAF.

There is no bombay on Diamond Lil and hasn't been since she was converted to a LB-30 during the war. The windows were part of the transport conversion.
