Went on a Alaskan cruise in August and when we flew in to Anchorage I and my buddy took the shuttle bus to the museum. It's located on the shore of Lake Hood and a lot of float planes were busy, pretty cool. I was hoping to see the Japanese Zero that was supposed to be there but was still in the lower 48, it's there now, according to their website. Lots of local bush plane history and if I remember correctly some large parts from a WW2 fighter, P-38 or P-40. Their reconstruction hanger has some interesting planes and it's worth the time to visit, if you're gonna be in Anchorage you gotta stop there. Took a 4 hour floatplane tour out of Whitehorse, Yukon, landing on a lake and returning , the Beaver was awesome, love radial engines. Outside the museum was a Catalina, a Goose , and some other amphib's, and modern jets, really lots to see.
