P-51D N6520S Chino 1971

I've got a PIC of this airplane, and the N number is pretty clear.... Can't seem to find it anywhere on the web? Thoughts?

I started this dossier...

...with the idea I could use the seed data to build up the history, but when I checked my usual sources (including WD5) I came up with nothing as well. So much for showing off! :?

Perhaps marked for movie work of some kind? I am currently in the process of importing NTSB data. I'll let you know if something pops up.

N 6520 S appears to have been registered to a 1967 Cessna 150 H since it was manufactured. It is within a block of N numbers for 150 H's. It is still actively registered.

There is an NTSB report dated 4/71 listing this same C 150 in an accident.

Probably when John Marlin was rebuilding it from a wreck. According to Mustangs Mustangs he got it flying in 1973.

Now that I look at the photo again, the guy on the ladder looks like John.

I think we have a winner! I am looking at Mark's original, or at least the one he sent me. The a link point in the chain link fence falls on what we both thought was an S. It could actually be a 6, especially when compared to the first 6. I'll update the record tomorrow when I have a few minutes and work out the history of the plane.

If you look really close around the links in the fence its a 6.....

I sent a close up to Mike, I hope he'll post it...... Looks like Russ Blow wins, I'd have to say its a 6, I might need a new braille computer screen...........

I did not get a chance to upload Mark's zoom in on the c/r before I left for work this morning. I was able to determine it is now Sizzlin Liz...

I have pictures I took of the airplane in 1974 at Compton and the major components were not assembled. I always recall the airplane coming to Compton on a flatbed as a complete airplane covered in mud from an off airport belly landing. Perhaps the paperwork from the Z and Mike Geren airplane was deemed more useful, or maybe the airplane didn't come with paperwork and other logbooks were bought from Z and Mike?
