Harvard canopy

Mon Nov 05, 2012 8:33 am

Hi,

I'm looking for Harvard plexiglas parts, namely the top parts for all three sections and the aft fixed part. Are T-6F bubbles still around?

Not sure about the T6-F bubble, but the Harvard Mk 4 top panels are available through Banaire.

Try this company:

They have done T-6 stuff before and I think have a mold for a Harvard 4 rear canopy bubble. I'm not to that point yet with my T-6 project, but that is who I was going to have do my stuff.

Cheers,

I dropped them a line.

You could also try LP Aero:http://www.lpaero.com/stcpdf/cat.pdf (page 78 for the T-6/Harvard stuff)

I looked at them, but they just have the top sections, they do not have the aft fixed section either in a one-piece or all the 6 pieces.

Sorry (should have read your post more carefully!).

How about Bannaire?

Again, they don't have the rear parts. Last year they had a bubble listed, but it's gone.

:(

Do you have the 1-piece rear bubble now or the earlier framed rear "fixed hood" canopy?
If it's the latter, that Bannaire link says they have:

45-31830-21

Aft, compound formed contour, HVD only

$136.50

45-31830-22

Forward, compound formed contour, HVD only

Another possibility is:

D & M Plexiglass Specialties, Chino, California. (626) 330 1320

I have the old framed one. So I guess that with this part I need to make the non-curved ones and I'd be in business if I don't find the bubble?

I can take my NOS rear bubble over there if you want them to duplicate it. I'll get mine done at the same time. I need to get that stuff done eventually anyhow. Do you want stock or do you want a full bubble like the T-6F?

Ollie, have you tried Lance Air here in Dallas, Texas??

I've had a disagreement with Lance, so I will not buy from them for a while.

I need the parts over the winter when we put the aircraft in for the annual. Brandon, do you have an estimate over the costs of the process?

No idea Ollie. It was some years ago I talked to them, but I never got around to bringing the canopy in to get a price. Maybe with your contacts you can put together a group buy and make it cheaper for everyone?

Aircraft Windshield has given me what I was looking for, I'll be ordering from them.

Cheers guys!
