Pathe newsreels, from the lighthearted to the tragic

Never seen Pathe before, but just spent hours going through some old newsreels.

From the lighthearted about old WW1 adversaries meeting at an airshow in the 30s

To the downright tragic as a navy fighter goes over the side of its carrier in 1958.

Wonder why he didn't eject or were the seats too basic in those days

Two minutes to get to him - Is that standard response time (seems long to me)? I thought a helicopter on station would have been able to get to him quicker than that.

Wonder if he was injured in the crash, as I would've thought that he would have been able to have blown the canopy and crawled by out himself in that amount of time
