RAF air support in 1930s - film clip Hawker Demons

Sat Sep 22, 2012 7:22 am

An interesting look back at how military technology in the mid 1930s had not really advanced that much since 1915-18

This film shows a tactical test / trial landing by British troops on home soil ... very similar to Gallipoli in 1915...but one key addition is seen - Hawker Demons flying air support missions over the troops.

The landing boats, horses, and equipment were nearly same 20yrs on at this stage so close to the WW2....
