The Collings Foundation Wings of Freedom tour is visiting NJ for the next few days. I caught up with them at Morristown Municipal Airport on Wednesday afternoon.

Here are a few pics. Image

I stopped by on Thursday afternoon and recognized a gentleman standing alone looking up into the B-17.

A B-17 navigator with the 414th Bomb Squadron of the 15th Air Force, he earned the Distinguished Flying Cross and four Air Medals.

Former New Jersey Governor Brendan Byrne.

Cool Bill thanks for sharing that. I don't know much about Gov. Byrne, (he was a bit before my time) but I am glad that as a veteran he was able to make it out and see the B-17.
