What's with the Tigercat sitting on it's tail in the background? Looks like it has both engines still mounted.

+1, I'm guessing the Tigercat had an interesting CG at times which would cause the tail end to drop like that.

And yes, the USAF did originally have contingencies for the B-1A (and B-1B) to be able to fly the AIM-54B and AIM-54C, so you are not seeing things.
