Another cockpit heading downunder

Thu Jul 19, 2012 7:55 am

I have been told there is another "exotic" warbird cockpit being shipped to Australia soon to join the growing cockpits already here. We will know in a few weeks what it is and when it is expected. So keep a heads up for a another cockpit inbound....

There is a large variety of full and semi complete cockpits in Australia on display including as i re call ...... 2 F-111 pods, 1 Jaguar, 1 Su-22, 1 x EE Canberra B.2, Mig-21, a few Mirages, S-2 Tracker, Squirrel, DC-3s and soon another exotic to be added all going well.

Some are public and some are private displays.

Myself ...i am still looking to acquire ideally a F-86 Sabre section to complement my 2 ejection seats and untold flightgear at displays in the future.

Liberator

you can add a B-17 to that list hopefully in the next 6 to 12 months.

If I can keep the current pace up I should meet that target for a cockpit section display made up of all original parts.

Liberator...

You say 2 F-111 Cockpit Modules in private hands in aus??? Would like to hear more if you know??? :)

I'm aware of one full crew module, that is 95% complete and missing but a few pieces and I am also aware of an amazingly solid effort being put toward a full F-111G cockpit panel project here in Aus that is more complete than some of the cockpit capsules in many of the overseas museums.

Not all all discounting the real possibility that there may be another crew module in private hands here, just saying I haven't heard anything about the existence of such, and would love to know more if you're in a position to tell???

The reason I ask is because I am the owner of the forementioned crew module, which is what I suspect to be one of the 2 modules you've mentioned - and of course any co-operation with other crew module owners and F-111 parts fanatics here or around the world is helpful to our limited little group, it would be amazing to find someone else here in Aus who also might benefit from being in contact with others who have similar projects....

:)
