While the quote referenced by Pat (so much owed by so many to so few), has to be one of the more iconic quotes when it comes to the Battle of Britain, there is a follow on that I love even more.

A Battle of Britain pilot, on first hearing the now famous phrase by Winston Churchill, paused for a moment to reflect, and then quipped, "He must be referring to our bar tabs."

How can you not love that?!!

And the following sentence in the speech makes it clear that it refered to more than just Fighter Command, and how it is remembered was changed by later 'spin'.
