This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

A google search for the aircraft's code turned up this page and photo of a Bf 109E-3 sitting on its gear in the same facility. Since the 109E-3 weren't in service until early 1940, the date on your link's page seems much too early. A couple of modeling and FSX sites suggest that this aircraft was used for aerodynamic test for the development of the 109F variant but I haven't been able to confirm that from my own sources. Just FYI.
