Strange Part Number Symbol - Need Help

Sat Jun 09, 2012 8:22 am

Hi All,

I'm trying to determine what this part number symbol represents. Is it Japanese? I am also wondering why the 9 is written in the way it is.

Any help would be appreciated

A reference of what part of the world the part was found in could help.

The backwards "E" is Japanese for Yo and by the style of the number font, this looks to be from a Japanese aircraft.

Hi there,

Thanks for that. Wow my first bit of Japanese aircraft. This part number came from a section of canopy I found in the middle of nowhere. (See link).
What does the backwards E (yo) mean? I've been searching for examples of Japanese part numbers but haven't found anything... only data plate examples.

Thanks for your help
