Any ceremonies or memorials taking place to commemorate Midway? Seems like a big deal for the 70th anniversary.

I always loved the quote on the WWII Memorial in Washington, D.C.

The quote is from the forward to "Incredible Victory" by Walter Lord, perhaps one of the most definitive books on the Battle of Midway (that I have as a very tattered paperback dating to August 1968). The full text is as follows:

Like Marathon, the Armada, the Marne, a few others, Midway showed that every once in a while "what must be" need not be at all.
