The "Memphis Belle" ( the B-17 movie aircraft) will be available for rides for the first time. From the Liberty Foundation website, www.libertyfoundation.org :

Is this the B17 David Tallichet owned or another one? Glad they have something to play with until Liberty Belle is back.

Yes, this is Dave's (MARC) The Movie Memphis Belle that has been living in Geneso, NY at the 1941 Historical Aircraft Group's facilities the past few years. MARC's B-26 Invader is also there along with MARC's DC-3 (that was at the Empire State Aerosciences Museum in the 90's).

Is the A-20G at Geneseo also a MARC aircraft?

Man, that's cool. I was granted complete access to it when David visited Spokane many years ago. Doubt that would happen today. Was at the start of the tours here. First B17 I ever saw.

Those guys work fast, a few weeks ago it was in pieces at Dayton and now they're selling rides. Great news!

I hope they can make it to Des Miones again. We saw the Liberty Belle two weeks before her emergency landing. They have a schedule notification link where you can send them an email to let you know if they plan on violating your town, I'm on the list.

When "Liberty Belle" was first being restored as "Outhouse Mouse", the tour guide would tell everyone that the plane was "Outhouse Mouse" and had flown xx number of missions. He got quite cross when we posted fact sheets around the hangar that contradicted the BS he was spouting. Another guide would tell everyone the Corsair was built by two companys and when I corrected him he said it would confuse people. Lying tour guides can spread alot of mistruth "it must be true if you heard it at the museum".

Allow me to suggest that this thread remain devoted solely to information related to rides on the Movie Memphis Belle and not devolve into another endless debate about the name painted on the side of the plane.

The LFHE program still has a moratorium against any new aircraft being admitted to the program. That's what the end of June meeting and public comment period are all about. I wouldn't get too worked up about ride flights just yet.

But isn't the moratorium on new issue permits? Their current one would apply with a change to the aircraft used.
