The T-28D is my old aircraft that we recovered from Laos it seems like eons ago. :supz:

Wow.. Thats interesting ... would love to know more of its history ... it is said to still have some patched bullet holes in it.
Also, the rear fuz seems to "pillow" more than most when pulling G

Man, why didn't I realize you guys were there when I was in Jo-burg last fall?

Realistically, that'd be because I had a pretty full itinerary when I was there.

It is an AT-28D-5 rebuilt from a T-28A primary donor being 50-273 and shipped off to SE Asia. I got it as part of a batch of T-28D's out of Laos in the late '80's. They came to Australia and a few have moved on overseas to USA [and now SA].

A subsequent owner after me removed all of the armorplate and power front seat which in my opinion was a shame as it was completely original when I owned and flew it. There are a number of bullet patches on the airframe. In the original paint strip we found evidence that it might have been painted all-over black at some point...
