Need pics: F-86Fs @ Foster AFB, TX, 1954-55

Mon May 21, 2012 9:12 am

VFM is looking for photos of USAF F-86F Sabre jets assigned to the 322nd Fighter (Day) Wing at Foster AFB in Victoria, Texas, during the time period of late 1954 through mid 1955. Our F-86F-30 s/n 52-4689 was assigned to the 322 FDW up until about July, 1955. In fact, that was its last active duty station with the USAF before it was made available to Latin American air arms through the Mutual Defense Assistance Program (MDAP). We plan to restore our Sabre in the 322nd's markings to capture that "Texas connection". Anyone have photos they can share, or even leads that might get us some photos? Black and white or color, prints/slides/scans, we'll gladly take whatever we can get! There is a lot of information on the internet about the 322nd's use of F-100s, but not much on the F-86s.

Here's a sample:

Nice try, Mike, but the only relevant pic in the Google searches is the one I posted above! :x

This stuff really is hard to find sometimes. . . :(
