P-39 at MAPS?

Isnt there a P-39 belonging to Dave Tallichet at the MAPS Air Museum? I seem to recall a discussion on the WIX within the past 18 months about this but the MAPS web site doesnt list a P-39 as being part of their collection.

Yes, I have it listed as possibly being 42-19995 (?) Bates will know better. When I saw it in 2000 it was stored and dismantled. The identity of this one is confused with the one in Buffalo.

I have to go to work so I can't scan a pic right now.

Yes there are actually two airframes. One is sitting outside on the loading dock and I'm not 100% where the other one is. One is not IDed and I can confirm the other is 42-19995.

Doesn’t Mr. Tallichet also own the P-39 at Air Heritage in Beaver Fall, PA? Or was that moved. I think I recall when I was there they said that was going to be moved somewhere else.

I now that another one of his P39's is currently stored outdoors and is for sale. it is located at the Lancaster airport in Columbus Ohio with the Historic aircraft squadron. i took some photos of it back in july of last year, but was not able to locate a serial number or anything like tht. it was mainly completenthe fuselage and wings were stacked next to each other.

Very complex airframe what is the number of Kermit's P-39 and does anyone have any picks?

THe story I got from the museum was...The group at Beaver Falls sent these airframes to MAPS for storage. Restoration was started on one machine and when it came time to jig the fuselage it was severly twisted, they were subsequently sent to MAPS, there were 3 total and I think one was sent to Lancaster and the other two were still outside the last time I was there.

Jim is close, but only two P-39s ever came to MAPS. (The third plane that made the trip was the P-40.) One is still at Beaver. Lancaster also has a Tallicehet P-39 but it didn't come from MAPS. It may have come from Beaver, but I don't know. Quite a few of these planes (I saw at least two) were stored in Geneseo about 10 to 15 years ago.

Gentlemen,
The air museum at Beaver County Airport still has a P-39 in their hangar.
Restoration has stopped due to problems Dave Taillichet is experiencing with raising funds for the restoration.
The A-20 is sitting on its landing gear with one engine attached and the other parked on the hangar floor.
Museum staff are currently working on the C-123 for the airshow season.
