Reminds me of the stories I used to hear from the Southern Illinois friends of my fathers.

Landing on the road to fill up at the Texaco station, landing in fields near the town's businesses in which whose personel they had come to meet, landing off airport to wait out bad weather, etc.
Once guys are in their 70-80's, you can figure for a more practical approach to life, the I-dotting and T-crossing is not of much significance to them unless it's about money!

Seriously, I hope the Beech isn't badly damaged, and that it will end up in the hands of someone who'll restore it and take care of it. I've always liked Twin Beeches.
