Warbird Radio Doolittle Raider pledge drive...HELP!

Mon Apr 09, 2012 4:59 pm

Tune into Warbird Radio.com tonight, Tuesday and Wednesday, morning and evening for the Pledge Drive to help the 70th Anniversary Reunion of the Doolittle Tokyo Raiders.

Please help us spread the word by sharing this link with your friends. Since the major corporate funding (that was promised) never came through, we're organizing this grass roots effort to help pull off the reunion.
We have some great stuff for folks that donate certain amounts and there are on-going matching pledges as well.

If you can't afford a donation...please at least share this link with your friends

Join us for some great guests and stories about the B-25's and the Doolittle Raiders.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

I donated two prints to the cause for auction!

"Aleutian Tiger" Features a dogfighting P-40 from the other "Flying Tigers" fighting in the Alaskan Aleutian Island Chain circa 1943, initially led by Claire Chennault's son, Major John Chennault. 16"x20" Print. Printed on 100lb cover with a Matte finish.

"You Can't Keep A Hot Rodder Down". I found a photo of this little modified on Saipan in "An Unofficial Pictorial History of the 500th Bomb Group", published in 1946, and I was intrigued. I looked for information on who built it for several months but never could find out any information, even from the 500th BG Association. It looks like it has elements of a Japanese Type 95 car, and aircraft wheels and tires in the front, but who knows what else. Unlike the ETO, the guys in the Pacific had very little to occupy their free time. And like any hot rodder would, this guy found a way to pass the time. 16x20", printed on 100lb cover with a Matte finish.

Very nice artwork Chad! I'd love to hear more about the Saipan hotrod in a different post.

Warbird Radio is continuing the pledge drive today. I was happy I got a chance to hear some of the live broadcast yesterday afternoon instead of having to catch a a replay.

Bump! Bump, Bumpity Bump!

The guys in Dayton need our help!

ALL of this money goes to the cause....buying gas, hotel rooms, rent cars...everything to get the folks from China, the Hornet Vets, the Raiders and the Airplanes to Dayton.

Tune in tonight and all day tomorrow to Warbird Radio.com

There are some cool gifts that have been donated to those that pony up some good cash!

Help!
