I have a set of DWG 6547A-8 P-51 prop blades that were overhauled in 1998. They've never been installed in a hub since overhaul, and stored since then. What has to be done to the blades to be able to install them? AD's?
Thanks,
Wayne

Unless they were stored in accordance with AD 81 13 06-R2 and noted so on the paperwork, they will most likely be due for AD compliance again.
They may also be too short for installation on a P-51. I'm not positive, but the limit may be 1.5" short and yours are 2".
Contact a propeller shop with Hamilton Standard capability and check.

Pretty sure you get a gold star on that one Glenn. I just went through this with our airplane. 1.5" is the limit. I had a set of -12's (minus 3") nobody wanted...almost gave them away. If they have been shortened more than 1.5" they can be used if the airplane if it's registered experimental. Not legal for limited.
Contact jay Wisler for new Avia built blades but you better be sitting down before you ask how much~
