Here's my photo - essay from The Friends of The Fighter Collection Event on Sunday March 11th 2012
Images taken with the new Canon G1X point and shoot camera ~ using a tripod and a six or eight second exposure time.
The camera is in fact so new that it's not yet supported by Photoshop

~ so I've just converted the RAW files into JPEG's and resized them to share.
Both the TFC's Bearcat and P-47 Thunerbolt were positioned before dark ~ which enabled photographers to get some nice angles of both .....

Of the two ~ I have to admit that I am rather smitten with "Snafu"

Then inside to listen to two informative talks .....

Although my attention was briefly diverted by the setting sun kissing the nose of the P-40 behind me

Immediately before some food ~ it was time to go outside and watch the Spitfire Mark V perform an engine run.
It's remarkable how well the flame dampeners mask the blue flame from the exhausts.

The final part of the evening allowed photographers the rare opportunity to take some images of TFC aircraft after dark.
Although how the TFC guys managed to get the planets to line up nicely I just don't know !
Spitfire Vb ~ EP120 .....

The Bearcat .....

Did I mention I'm
REALLY smitten by the Thunderbolt .....

Many, many thanks to everyone at The Fighter Collection for such a well organised event.
And especially for rearranging the lighting so we could get different moods and effects in our pictures
How many days / hours / minutes is it now I wonder before TFC's Flying Legends Air Show at Duxford Airfield on June 30th and July 1st ?
