Sinsheim Museum Germany - amazing DC-3 "ride"

In 95 or 96 I was in Germany and had the opportunity to visit the Sinsheim Technik Museum. My favorite features were the various aircraft arranged on various pedestals. You climbed the stairs to progressively tour each and, once you reached the DC-3 at top, you used the supplied burlap sack to slide down inside the tube to ground level. It was simply fantastic! I took photos because I didn't think anyone would believe me ... surely this would be illegal in the US.

Great. I was there in 1996 and there was no way to get up to the pedestal mounted aircraft from what I remember (although I was keen to get indoors and see the exhibits, with limited time)

The slide is still there, but now you end up inside the building.

Hey Ken that is neat! We were thinking of attaching a plastic kids slide to Spooky so they could slide down after taking a tour. We had several hundred kids through Spooky this weekend in Columbus. They all wanted to "shoot the guns" I think they were disappointed when I told them it was the pilots job!

I went to the Speyer museum in January with my brother-in-law. Would have been nice to make it to Sinsheim but time didn't allow for that. The Buran is a nice consolation prize for not seeing Concorde and Concordski. Also if you look at the Speyer site, there is a slide coming out of the 747...
