Hey Folks!!
I'm new to WIX, and need some help with some research. I'm currently doing an RC P-47 of "Dottie Mae", and I'm having a heck of time getting a good high res pic of the nose art. I've tried two different vinyl graphics companies and sent them everything I could find online of the nose art. Problem is when they try to replicate it, it comes out very pixelated.
With both companies, I've sent pics of the real plane, recovered wreckage, and artist profile pics of the nose art. Even sent a copy of a decal sheet but when enlarged, the girl looks like a cartoon robot!
What I'd really like to do is get in contact with the guys retoring the real one and see what they have, or how they're going about replicating the artwork.
Anyone have any useful info to push things along? Thanks in advance!

If I may assume, the new art will be painted. There's no other choice. 8)

It will be finished as she was on 8th May 1945 and I assume that is also hand painting all of the markings.

Hey everyone,
I had the great opportunity to stop by Mike Breshears restoration shop in Idaho and check out the progress on Dottie Mae and all I can say is WOW, Mike and his team are pressing along and everything looks great. The amount of detail that’s going into the plane is unbelievable even down to them having all the original inspection stamps and ‘Rosie the riveter’ signatures on all the internal aluminum structures. Mike was very kind and let us take all the pictures we wanted all while he talked about the detail work that’s going into the plane, he talked about how they’re trying to use as much of the original parts as they can and they were able to repair all the crushed stainless steel on the belly that houses the supercharger.

Great progress. What a shame Jeff isn't around to see it.

Will they be able to use any of the original aluminum/castings/steel or will this be a majority "new" build? Looks great though!

Is this a light and does it protrude into the lead edge of the rudder?
