RMAllnutt wrote:Hi there... A friend of mine has a joystick from what seems to be a P-51 Mustang. I don't have a photo to share just yet, but the base has a part number 99-521068. The 99 prefix ties in with a P-51A production run, but I don't have a Mustang parts manual to make sure. If this is a P-51A stick, would it be applicable to later models of Mustang, or did they change the design? Does anyone have a photo they can share of the stick, or something from the parts manual?
Thanks in advance!

Richard

Is there any chance this is from a CAC-built Mustang?

If it was made in AUS it would have a 17 or 18 in place of the 99.
Looks P-51 from here.
Last digit might be a B rather than an 8.

My parts book calls out a 99-52105 for the lower socket or casting.
The complete part as shown is 99-52102 as an assy or -10.
The tube is a 19-52113-11.

RMAllnutt wrote:Many thanks indeed for all of those details Rich. It looks to me like it is indeed a B at the end, and looking more closely, I also think what I originally took to be a 9 is actually a 5, which does then tally with the part number you mentioned. So is this stick generic to the P-51 series, or to a specific version?
Many thanks again.
