Wanted - Douglas C-47 Dakota tail wheel assembly - static

Thu Feb 09, 2012 3:23 am

Does anyone out there happen to have a non-airworthy, preferably cheap, tailwheel assembly for a Dakota that is being restored here in New Zealand?

It is not going to take the weight of the aircraft I don't believe, as the aircraft will be repositioned tail-up so the interitor is level, for visitors to walk through.

This is for legendary pioneer Dakota ZK-AZL, the first ever Dakota converted for aerial topdressing, by legendary pioneer Ossie James.

If anyone has any leads or suggestions please email me at dave_daasnz@hotmail.com and I'll pass it onto the Ossie James Dakota Trust.

Have you thought of trying a C-47 wreck site in Australia, NZ, or NG?

Possible that one exists in the hills.

Good luck.

Thanks Tony, we'll keep that idea in mind if nothing else comes up.
