A friend of mine is trying to find out what or where this patch is for.
I'm thinking an all-weather bomb group or something like that.

Any ideas?
Thanks.

Well, I WAS going to suggest checking with Brians Squadron Patches site, but Brian seems to have pulled a Nixon and dropped off the map, the sites are 'available'

I Looked through Brian's entire site and couldn't find anything close.

Has Brian started a new site? I tried the old ones and they were 'available for purchase' I've also looked through 'Plane Crazy' and it isn't there either.
Are we certain it's American? It could be European or British since it appears to be embroidered onto a felt base piece which was Commonwealth style.
It does look pretty cool

The commonwealth angle made me think of radars...it is a black bird peering through the clouds to drop a bomb. Could that be a clue?

Not just any black bird, I think it's a black swan.
Significance as a clue?

Hi Jerry, its Australian made, so likely from a 5th Air Force unit. I will check my archives. Dave
