B-25 Internal Skin Pattern Confirmation

Hi All,

I found this piece and after much searching believe its part of the internal skin of a B-25 applied to cover the ribbing located near the main-plane section of the fuselage. It still bears part of the original OD paint applied. Interesting piece and had no idea they stamped pattern's like this onto aircraft of this type. (if indeed that's what its from)

Any help confirming this would be appreciated. I have found one internal photo of what looks like this pattern on a B-25 but would like a close up photo.

It's designed to keep thinner material like your what appears to be an internal stiffner from 'canning' or buckling without all the extra trouble, weight, complexity and expense of adding on extra structure. Still done today on just about every airplane made of metal, if you could walk through the tube of a Boeing, Douglas, AIRBUS, or LOCKHEED with all the interior and blankets out you'd see it everywhere, same with smaller airframes usually in secondary structures.

Can you show the internal photo as you described?
Could be a piece of the sheetmeal covering the main beams in the bombbay area.

It is not fore sure anyway if there is no stamp or anything recogniseble on such a tiny piece so it would a small miracle if it could be confirmed.

And that`s what I mean!

Your piece is probably comparable with the second webplate from the left in the picture you found on the net, in this case the RH side of the plane looking aft.
And yes, located in the bombbay.
(I`m working in person on this very same aircraft, believe it or not)
