Great looking airplane, just imagine what else could be done with deep pockets. Has anyone heard about C+P Aviation's P-82 Mustang project?

These are the most recent photos that I have seen of the C&P P-82 restoration, though the photos are more than 7 months old, so the aircraft is certainly further along than even these photos show:

John, thanks for that link. With the detail that both these projects are under going, I'm assuming both will be airworthy. With this being the case, which one is going to be flying first (anyone venture a guess?)

It's the goal of both groups to have both P-82's flying in-time, to both be at the EAA Oshkosh air show in 2013. C&P Aviation's P-82 is further along of the two, so it will likely be the first of the two to fly, but that is only my guess. I believe all of the issues that once existed, with finding engines and props, has been solved.

If the reports are correct, C&P will be restoring P-51H 44-64375 after their P-82 is completed. Pat Harker also purchased the P-51D "Ridge Runner III" earlier this year (he had it on show at Oshkosh this past summer), so several years down the road, there could be quite the sight to see an airworthy P-51D, P-51H, and P-82 all under one hangar, or all in the air together at once!

John, thanks for the information. Now, I just have to convince my wife to come to Oshkosh in 2013. I've got 1.5 years to work on it..lol.. I have managed to get her to committ to the 50th anniversary airshow at Abbottsford, BC next year.

Wow this is just incredibly exciting- suddenly we'll have two flying P-82s to enjoy!
