Ha, and I was just bragging on seeing two B-17's buzzin' around on the "A/C You Saw Today" thread -- and now look at that shot of a formation of four Forts, oh lordy. :P <--- supposed to be tongue hanging out drooling

What's more fun than seeing a B-17 fly over? Seeing two B-17's fly over. What's more fun that seeing two B-17's fly over ...... yeah, like that...... :D

BTW, what's the 4th one? I recognize T-Bird, Raiders, and Journey. I want to guess it, but can't remember the stupid name all of a sudden, $*%#*^@

3rd EDIT: Just saw the link to the Flickr photo stream. Oh goody, there goes the next hour. 8) Awesome post, PreservedAC -- thanks!!! :drink3:

Thanks for the replies,

I'm glad to have seen this formation with 4 B-17's
Never seen it again somewhere else (except duxford with 2 B-17's)

I'm working on a list with all aircraft present.
Takes a bit more time as aircraft have changed registrations or colors like the green A-26.
I didn't make any notes .There was simply too much going on at the flightline and apron.

Will reply ASAP

Enjoy the photostream

Nice scans.... What did you use to scan the slides and the photos? (equipment that is) I assume you touched them up in Photoshop....

The slides in this set are scanned 2 years ago with a special reflecta slide scanner.
The scanner enables you to scan max 100 slides in one turn (takes about 5 hours) all scanned in TIF format.
The first photos of the set are slides .With todays software I would add some saturation.
There are 135 more slides to scan (for the dark days in wintertime)

B-29 SUPER FORTRESS ,N529B (USAF) FIFI by PreservedAC, on Flickr

The negatives are all damaged .First of all by sand & dust inside the camera and second by the guy who printed them.
There is enough fingerprint - DNA material - on my negatives to start a "Cold case".

Instead ,I started scanning the prints with an epson 4490. 4 prints at a time ,all in TIF.
The only correction required is for the grain (printing paper)
Almost no color or contrast corrections required.
I use Adobe 9 "quick" and "complete" menu for these corrections.

Corrections for horizon and height\base ratio is done with ACDSEE.
This is also the perfect tool to convert the TIF file back to JPG and resize.

Hope this helps
