Something positive involving Mustangs here...
I'm looking for photos of a particular Mustang in the 352nd Sqn., 353rd FG, "the checker noses". The a/c in question is a D model 44-14802, "Miss Illini III" SX-X flown by Capt. Horace Q. Waggoner.
I've recently gotten this info from his son, an old friend from years back. I did get Mark down to Lone Star recently where he got to see Gaveston Gal fly.
The 2008 Ghosts calendar had a Mustang marked SX-A on the cover.
Capt. Waggoner flew over 100 missions and was credited with five a2a kills and 14 ground a/c kills but he "really liked ground attack best."

Don't have any of the a/c but a couple of the pilot with his friend Art Cundy who drowned in the Channel coming back from a mission.
