B 17 over Western Massachusetts?

Wed Sep 21, 2011 2:32 pm

Am I imagining things or could I possibly have just seen a silver B 17 with a red tail flying over the Quabbin Reservoir heading East around 2:30EST?

If it was, which one would it have been?

The Collings Foundation "909" is in Westfield at Barnes until Friday. You would have seen it on it way from Lewiston, ME to Westfield.

The underside is gray, so that must be where the "silver" came from.

Thanks!

My friend noticed it and I heard the engines which didn't sound quiet right (used to light aviation, parachute planes for the local drop zone, F15s, A10s, C5s and C130s) and ran out to the deck to see it lumbering along sounding wonderful but, from a good distance which is why it seemed silver.
