Visit to Vulture's Row Hangar

Fri Sep 16, 2011 10:50 pm

Last week, just before the California Capital Air Show, WIX'er Chuck Wahl invited my ground ops team over to check out the SBD and SB2C they are restoring. Amazing projects and very well organized. Chuck spent about an hour and a half with us going over all the details and nuances of restoring two birds in the same location.

I can't wait to see these puppies when they're done! The SBD rear seat and gun mount were fascinating.
I never got to see one up close like that. The new extrusions they have had to have made are amazing and numerous. Future award winners for sure.
Thanks Chuck for the tour and keep on truckin' with those birds!
Jerry

PS: I texted Chuck this evening and he was at Reno but was about 1000 feet away from the incident so he's okay.

Nice shot of the team, any idea from left to right as to who they are?

Sure, but they aren't Chuck's guys, they're my ground ops team from the East coast!
