Ford Tri-Motors, Hamilton Metalplanes, Boeing 40....great stuff and a good acting too.

I saw it for the first time a couple of years ago at the Paramount Theater in Oakland. Paul Mantz' takeoff-from-the-mesa scene was pretty spectacular on the big screen. And when Rita Hayworth made her entrance, the entire audience gasped.

I also realized for the first time how much the script of "Flying Tigers" was a ripoff of "Angels." Guess the scriptwriters at Republic were under the gun and had to churn out something in a hurry. Not the first time it happened, and it won't be the last.

'Ripoffs of other movies?' look @ some of the remade junk onscreen over the last few years, do we REALLY need a remake of CONEHEAD the BARBER? Croms kneecaps!!
