Oscar Duck, send an e-mail to Archie Defante at the USAF Historical Office at Maxwell AFB. It may take a while but Archie will get you her USAF history and email it back. Be sure to let him know that you actually own and operate the aircraft. It might speed things up.

Great an Airspray A-26 going on the warbird circuit. Was very priviledged in Dec 1999 to find 14 or so on the field and I believe 2 was there. Sadly, a year later was the fire and a couple of accidents that destroyed some of the airplanes I took pics of that day.

Oscar Duck--

Congrats on the Invader...Saw "C-FPGP" and took off upstairs for a look in one of my model cases, sho 'nuff, I have your airplane in 1:72 in my loft. (The old Airfix kit, made over as Tanker 2 as she was in the late 80s; ref photos came from a contemporary Air Classics article...soon afterward somebody released a nice set of Airspray Invader decals, but at least my homebrew PGP is unique). Wonder if TJ Johansen has any info on the service history of your 26?

Have long wanted to visit the Antipodes...here's yet another reason to!

Thanks guys for your interest. I'm excited about this project. I'm going to proably paint her in her original scheme [if I can find one] or as a "Farm Gate" machine from my war.

Update: My new A-26 Invader moves closer to heading to Reno and Australia...

Seems like she was a black bird with 3rd BW in Korea. Yet to be confirmed..

The original B26- Marauder was known as the Widow maker. When they were flown out of McDill AFB during the 1940s, there was a saying "One a day in Tampa Bay".

After they added a bit to the wings it improved its record. Incidentally, the B-26 had the best record re: losses in the ETO during WW2.

I guess that the A26 Invader was an improvement of the B26
