OT: Green Lantern Hanger?

Just courous what was the hager filmed in Green Lantern? At first I thought it was Fantasy of Flight in FL, then I took a second look and don't look like it was. Any Ideas?

Thanks, just bugged me that I didn't know where it was, I usuallys can pick these things out (esp. Aviation related). The art-deco look threw me.

The hangar is at Lakefront. The hangar they used for the big scene was the old National Guard hangar.

The Ferris Aircraft company building was actually the recently refurbished ( externally ) Lakefront terminal.

It's really not off topic. The Collings Foundation F-4, TA-4 and a private T-2, 2 UH-1s and 2 L-39s were used in the movie as static background. Unfortunately , most wound up on the cutting room floor. You can see a quick glimpse of the F-4 during the flashback scene, once, when Hal's dad throws his flight jacket to him, and then when young Hal runs under the tailhook during the crash scene. Don't blink though, it happens pretty fast.

Thanks, I'm torn between going to the multi to see the movie or just setting fire to a $20 and waiting about 6 months for it to hit cable. There can't be much left @ Lake Front now a days.

The movie is fun and pretty faithful to the comic book origins of the Green Lantern. It is a definite set up for the already approved sequel.

There's plenty left at Lakefront ! It was some kind of busy while we were there. Shooting was being interrupted all the time for all of the traffic arriving and departing ! The FBO is really busy and there are a bunch of planes of all types that appear to be based there.

Well that's encouraging to hear! I figured the city would use the destruction from Kate to push it off into the lake and turn it into condos like they did with Ponchartrain Beach park just up the lakeshore.
The terminal building really is an art deco wonder and a reminder of when airline flying was something special and exciting, not a reason to herd like sheep and be degraded by former security guards to be squeezed onto an overcrowded, smelly, filthy city bus full of the crowd that used to ride Trailways.
