This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

He's been quite busy training and flying as the very last USAF B-39 Flight Engineer.

That and driving all over west Texas and Oklahoma hauling B-29 parts...and driving in that country is not easy...unless you like to sleep behind the wheel.

He's in Hawaii with his daughter recovering from lots of bad behavior at the Olympia Air Show.
I'm sorry I couldn't get up there this year to join in

29.....
But yeah, that is actually quite funny. At one point that would have been kind of a dubious distinction. Now it's just freakin' cool.

I have known Brad since the early 90's and there is only one explanation for Brad's behavior. He is a time traveler!
Answer me this:
Why does Brad disappear from time to time?
Why does Brad pop up all over the world like Waldo on a drunken bender?
How does Brad know so much about old aircraft?
Time Traveler!
One time during the Iraq war, I had done one of those 22 hour aircrew days flying all over the Gulf. I finally got back to my room and went to sleep. About three hours later there is a knock at my door and low and behold, it was Brad! I had not seen Brad in about 5 years! I was so startled and confused at first that I didn't recognize him. Ask him about the look on my face when I opened the door. Priceless. I didn't even know he was in Theater, much less on my base. Then I didn't see him again for another 4 years when he showed up on my doorstep while dealing with GA's estate. Explanation?
Time Traveler!
It all makes sense now.......

I think you've got it Herc, but I wonder if he can successfully pour tea in his time-machine?

Of course, the ultra-rare B-39.
Brought to you by clapped-out desert computer keyboards!

He can be lured back to this time by anything wrapped in bacon.
It has worked in the past...er...future....uah. I am confusing myself again.
He shall return....

White bread, perhaps?

Sadly, I heard the same thing last weekend...in spite of my pleading.

I seem to have misplaced my secret decoder ring again... what event(s) led to his departure?
FWIW, I enjoyed reading his posts.

The quality of WIX depends on the quality of the good posters. If we let good contributors like Brad feel it's not worth it, or get driven away, we are all the poorer.
I've often thought of just not bothering any more, but for what I've got out of WIX (lots of great friends, contacts and opportunities around the world) and a desire to kick ignorance and parochialism, and a belief that Scott deserves our support has kept me engaged.
There's an infinite supply of stupid - it takes effort to carve out the islands of sense.
I'd like to see Brad back - workload, timetravel and other distractions aside.
Regards,
