Information on A-26B taxi incident- October 17, 1987

I am attempting to gather information on an A-26B 41-39161 which was damaged when its left main gear collapsed while taxiing at the Fort Worth International Airfest on October 17, 1987. Other than an apparent ferry flight from Ft Worth to Paris the Invader has not flown since this incident.

Does anyone have any information or photos of this aircraft from that airshow? PM me or e-mail. Thanks!

Hey Zane, not to be picky, but I think I spotted a boo boo on your pics of that ship; you have two cockpit shots listed as being of that A-26, N26RP... but the cockpit looks suspiciously like a LB-30/B-24, aka, Diamond Lil. What'cha think?

If my memory is correct, at that time the A-26 and B-24 were parked on the same part of the Meacham ramp.

Didn't realize there was a -26 carrying the 8th's Korean War Eagle and markings.

I was at that show and saw it happen. The airplane landed normally but when the pilot tapped the brakes to turn off the runway, the left gear collapsed. The sound of metal skidding on concrete is a sound you will never forget. The canopy flew up and the two pilots used the left wing (the tip was on the ground) as an escape slide.
That A-26 sat at Meacham for several years. It was parked out in front of our hangar for quite some time.
