Nick...nice shots (As per usual.) Too bad about the licensing fee BS. Always someone who doesn't want to participate but wants some of the "gravy".

Mudge the appreciative :drink3:

Purrrrrrrr.............

One of my favorite memories growing up an 'airshow kid' was when the Vulcan would come to Paine Field and Abbottsford every year.

Love the Vulcan! Didn't they bring one to Oshkosh a few times?

I'm with SPEEDY! I remember it (along with 409 Sqn from COMOX in F-101B's) making passes down KPAE's show line walking on it's tail with everything (bomb bay, gear, glove box door and door to the biffy)open and loud enough to make you temporarily 18 inches shorter, and gads did it completely fill the sky!!

That's an Abbottsford shot if I ever saw one! There's Inspector's Hawks from the 409 Squadron. VERY nice.

For a 'strictly by the book, attitude and control' airplane that the VOODOO was supposed to be those boys from the Northwest corner of Vancouver Island sure did some serious weed sweeping stuff when they came to Everett.
And the best part? they were pretty quick about it too! more than once all four would go past in tight and look straight ahead low with lots of 'hair' on them. :D :D :D

I'd like to take just a moment to be sure and thank the Lynnwood Rotary for screwing up and killing off the Air Fair after doing such a good job for so many years, and letting me see Bob Herendeen, Bob Hoover, Bud Granley, Art Scholl, some wild man named Jim Franklin, and so many others over the years.

Would that be an airshow at Paine Field in 1982? I was there rebuilding my B-25.....

The Voodoo display was awesome...

409 were special guests every year and always loved showing off, and the crowds loved watching them show off too, probably not so much the neighbors

Only on WIX could a discussion about a small English airshow end up moving to Canadian Voodoos

See what happens when you put a running outboard motor into the pot of old memories?? :D

Invader, is that the one that went to Oz in pseudo PBJ markings with the ENCO Tiger nose art and is now supposed to be back in the U.S.?
