This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

I didn't know "Ice Pilots NWT" was now airing in the lower 48!
I'm in New Hampshire with family for Easter and Last Night at 10:00pm (Friday)
I see "Ice Pilots NWT" is on! What a nice surprise.
i only got to watch a little bit, but I recorded it on my Bro-in-laws DVR so I can take a better look later today.
I've been waiting since 2009 for this to air down here!
Anybody else see it?
Jerry

We had Mikey McBryan and Scott Blue on our show Thursday night. They were really great. If you get a chance check it out on warbirdradio.com

Caught the late airing when I got home last night. Like many others I have been watching the show from the start by alternate means shall we say.

So I'm watching what I saw two years ago. I hope they catch up with the rest of the world by the time season 3 starts.
My only problem is they have "Americanized" the show for broadcast here. A new narrator overdubbed, apparently a graduate from the Broadcast School of The Living Dead. And all the adult language (on the tame end) has been bleeped. If you want to eventually buy the DVDs I would suggest getting the Canadian originals.

Thanks to a fellow Wixer I have a signed copy of the original season 1. I like the harsher language becasue it is not that bad, yet let's you feel the true feelings of the guys.

Never heard of it. What's it about? I mean "what kind of warbirds and where"?

Hey Mudge, the show is about Buffalo Airways that flies in Canada. They fly DC-3's, C-54's, C-46's and more. The show follows day to day operations and the challenges of keeping these old planes still operating and in some rough conditions as weather is not always fun there. My favorite quote from the interview we did? "When Air Canada parks their jets because of the cold, we fire up our radials, and go flying"

OK...so it's not about warbirds. Sounds kinda like the unforgettable "Ice Road Truckers" (with airplanes instead of Kenworths) that I can't tear myself away from.

The C-47 C-46 and C-54 are warbirds last time I checked

If you have the original Canadian copies of the show, don't they run @ 74% of U.S. speeds? (old joke about the value of a Yanqi Dahlla vs a Hudsons Bay Peso, AKA a Loonie)

My Dish Network package doesn't include NatGeo. But, no worries. I have a genuine, original, smuggled-out-of-Canada, Ice Pilots NWT Season 1 DVD set, so I can watch the show any time, forever!
(thanks again, Dave!!!)

Wouldn't you know it, the show finally gets to the States and it's on a channel my craptastic cable system doesn't have (unless I want to pay through the nose for the next teir of channels.) Oh well..sounds like they watered it down anyway..I'll just wait for it on DVD.
Strange that they'd dub over the original narrator. So many American TV shows are now shot in Canada that most people are accustomed to the accent (I've been watching the recent "Battlestar Galactica" remake on Netfilx..all the secondary characters have very obvious Canuckian accents.) They did the same thing when the original "Mad Max" was released in the U.S. The producers didn't think Americans could relate to the Aussie accents, so they were all overdubbed with Yanks. I caught that version on late-night TV once..it was bizarre hearing Mel Gibson speak with someone else's voice, especially since it was someone I recognized from a bunch of commercials.
