What an awesome sight! I kind of miss the look of the rockets & drop tanks but I know the plane is much safer to operate without them attached. Congrats to Jim for honoring his father in such splendid fashion. I'm sure Joe would be extremely proud!

Chuck, I have a selection of scanned History Cards headed your way for review in the next couple of days. I haven't forgotten. ;)

Hey Rob... when I talked to Jim two weeks ago, he said that they will be getting rocket rails on the aircraft once the new wings are ready. The aircraft is wearing metalized, rather than fabric-covered outer wing panels at present. These wings came from another project, but were ready to go so went on the aircraft to get her flying sooner. The fabric covered wings are currently being restored, as far as I know, and will be ready in about a year. From my conversation, it seemed evident that Jim intends to put the rockets back on the aircraft too.

Cheers,
Richard

Did they put gear uplocks in it this time?

So great to see this aircraft back in the air. I love the idea of getting the Rockets back on it.
