Planes of Fame's P-47G soon to go "on Detachment"?

Sat Mar 12, 2011 5:30 pm

I recently heard a few rumors that the Planes of Fame Museum's P-47G Thunderbolt was going to be sent "on detachment" out of state to be used as a "pattern" for the production of one or more new-build P-47s. Can anyone confirm the validity of this rumor? Most interesting!

AAAAHHHHHH!! I was hoping to see this airplane in August when I head West on a tour of west coast aviation museums. On the otherhand, having another razorback in the air is worth it!

It's probably going to spend a little time in the Warhawk Air Museum in Nampa, ID as well.
