FW-190Ds, where are they?

Fri Mar 11, 2011 8:21 pm

The NASM informationsheet http://www.nasm.si.edu/collections/artifact.cfm?id=A19600319000 on their FW-190D9 says that there are four surviving D-models, all in the US. It says that the NMUSAF owns one of these, in addition to the one on loan from NASM. Is there any information on the NMUSAF-owned 190D?

There is also the Champlin 190D, now at the Museum of Flight, but where is the fourth 190D?

NASM has one D, Werk Nr. 601088, on loan to Dayton.

836017 is with FHC.

210968 was recovered from Lake Schwerin and is being restored at the Luftwaffe Museum in Germany.

211028 is supposedly in Virginia.

Lastly is this example being restored in Kissimmee, FL

That's fairly stunning news... I don't think I've ever seen anything, anywhere about this project. Has it ever been mentioned here on WIX?
