Looking for B-24D photos of HALPRO #24 41-11636

While sorting stuff in yet another box that was stored for over 10 years, I came across a copy of the Pacific Northwest Aviation historical Foundation (now known as MoF). Inside the back cover and on the back cover are two pictures of HALPRO #24 41-11636 'Wash's Tub'. Both are close ups of both sides of the nose. The article says the 'Tub' was scrapped out @ the Spokane Air Depot (now Fairchild AFB) in Oct. of 1944 showing 73 mission markers and 22 claimed kills by the gunners in 15 months of combat.

The inside photo, in B&W is the right side of the nose and about 39 visiting big wigs blocking most of the view, but shows an odd, plaid pattern under the aft edge of the cockpit side glass next to a scroll outlining it's combat history. The back cover is in color and is of one of her crews in color complete with a large map of the MED. I wonder if anyone has photos of the entire airplane as I've thought for years it would be a very colorful modelling subject.

Accordig to the article (and J baugher) she went to the 376th B.G. and assigned # 63 in place of the HALPRO #24 and was equipped with two extra, low nose mounted .50's fired by the pilot.

Didn't find a picture but in the appendix of Birdsall's "Log of the Liberators' the same information is given about 'Wash's Tub'. From what I gather from teh book it was the lone surviving HALPRO B-24.

Thanks! The shot of the right side nose less the suits and hats helps quite a bit! The color photo is in the article I have but shows it as with the 376th. the FLICKER montage let me see the aft fuselage and find it had no odd letters or numbers just standard markings for theatre.

I thought the 'D's were all equipped with two lower .50's (controlled by the Pilot)

Total of five (5) in the nose.
