Question for the WWII Warbird equipment experts

I'm wondering if this is a B-17-exclusive Oxygen Regulator or if it was used on multiple aircraft?

It seems to me that a lot of these sellers say that these type of parts come from a particular A/C type as a selling point, but I think they were most likely used on more than one A/C.
I don't know much about this stuff, which is why I am asking.

That oxygen regulator was used on all Army and some Navy aircraft before and early in the war that carried high pressure oxygen systems. There is no way to tell what aircraft it specifically came out of unless it has a tag stating what aircraft it was removed from.
So many items are advertised as having come from the more famous aircraft like the B-17 and the P-51 either because they don't know any better or just want folks to believe it is from that famous aircraft.
This type of regulator was used in the B-17E and earlier and possibly some F models. This was the kind used with the bladder type of oxygen mask seen in 12 O'clock High with the rebreather bag hanging down below the mask.
With this regulator you can attach it directly to most oxygen bottles and hook up your A-8 mask and it will work, assuming it is operational.

I have some pics of a P-51 that exploded at Reno a few yrs ago.they had the O'E. low pressure setup and they filled it with high pressure.(that was the story at the time) it blew the plane almost in half.it also injured a crewman. I'll find the pics and post them.oxygen systems are something you dont wann play around with
