BAC Strikemaster Crash

Sat Feb 26, 2011 7:58 pm

Just saw on Facebook that a BAC Strikemaster crashed into the Hudson River near Kingston New York and the pilot is missing. They said the plane had a dragon painted on the nose. Hope everything turns out OK.

No, that's the old one. It was wrecked sometime ago with a hard landing. There was a new one acquired to replace the old one.

Is that Andy Anderson in the Blue Cap? I had the pleasure of meeting him that the Lebanon Fly-in in TN a few years back and was wondering if he was piloting it but could not remember his name until it was referred to in one of the articles posted.

NTSB preliminary report

Appears the pilot was flying the plane beyond his skillset.
