Looking for any info 7th Liaison Sq. 1 FW March AFB 48-49

Thu Feb 17, 2011 4:05 pm

I have been researching where my L-4 was assigned during its military time. The IARC shows it last assigned to the 7th Liaison Squadron, 1st Fighter Wing, TAC , out of March AFB from 30 June 48 until the squadron went inactive on 28 March 49. That was the last entry on the IARC which was completely filled. Not sure what happened to it again until Feb 52 when it was turned over to the Maryland CAP.

I was just wondering if anyone had any info, pics, squadron insignia for the 7th while it was active at March. It is interesting that the 1 FW is now based out of Langley and the L 4 is only 30 miles away. It would fit right in with the F 22's.

Hey Russ you might want to contact William Larkins he shoot many of the L-Bird during that time while he was TDY in Calf. also if you need info on the Maryland CAP let me know as I have friends down there that might be able to help.

Thanks. I will send him an e mail. The L 4 was reassigned from army ground forces to TAC with a listed project number. I am just curious what it is and what it might have done.
